We recently had the pleasure to interview Daniel Rasmussen, executive director of Pinnacle Acupuncture and Associates, located in Seattle, Washington. During our discussion, Mr. Rasmussen told us about his desire to help people improve their lives and explained why he has embraced the practice of Oriental Medicine.
What made you decide to start your own business?
Daniel Rasmussen: It has always been my dream to own and operate my own business and create a team of people and a business that improved the lives of other people
Can you describe your business to us?
Daniel Rasmussen: The purpose of our clinic is to help as many people as possible in their quest for optimum health, to avoid needles, drugs and surgery and educate them on the benefits of Oriental Medicine so that they in turn can educate others.
How was it that you ended up finding your niche?
Daniel Rasmussen: I discovered Oriental Medicine through personal experience. It was the only thing that helped me completely resolve my health concerns. After experiencing such dramatic improvement in my health I wanted to be able to do this for other people! It has become my absolute passion!
Finally, can you give us an insight into your background, education and work history?
Daniel Rasmussen: I’ve always had a passionate interest in science, health, fitness, longevity, and I was a voracious reader of the most effective ways to be as happy and healthy as possible in life. This led me to my studies in Eastern Medicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Nutrition. I started my studies at Bastyr University, which is the Harvard University of Holistic and Natural Medical schools and then finished my training with an internship in Shanghai China.
In China, I shadowed doctors who treated 70-100 patients per day with Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, which allowed me to get an extremely wide spectrum of experience in a short amount of time. After returning to the US I started working in an integrated medical clinic on the Peninsula of Washington where I was treating 20-30 patients daily with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. After working there for two years I moved into private practice.
The incredible results we were getting in the clinic translated into healthy happy patients who were referring their friends and family like crazy and we grew quickly over the next two years into a thriving wellness center.

Acupuncture is a terrific way to help people relax and feel better. I wish I could get it.
